Red Sun Revival are an alternative / gothic rock band formed in London, England in 2011. The band’s sound is defined by sonorous vocals with intricate, often sparkly guitars which float over driving bass lines and weave amongst haunting violin harmonies. The sound has echoes of the orchestral and choral aspects of film soundtracks and often incorporates folk elements. Red Sun Revival are Rob Leydon, Matt Helm, Panos Theodoropoulos & Christina Emery. Rob was one of the founding members of VOICES OF MASADA, previously signed to Strobelight Records before disbanding in 2010. Rob was also a guitarist for ‘ADORATION’. Additionally, he has played as a session guitarist for ‘NOSFERATU’ and ‘THE EDEN HOUSE’. Matt Helm, a talented self-taught guitarist from London, plays guitar for upcoming goth rock band ‘Pretentious, Moi?’. Panos Theodoropoulos, an accomplished bass guitarist from Greece, currently living in London, was involved in the Greek alternative music scene for many years, working with a number of bands. Christina Emery is a classically-trained violinist, who has additionally played keyboards for electro act ‘FutureFrenetic’. Christina’s violin adds a refreshing new dimension to the alternative sound providing melodic interplay with the guitar, as well as haunting solo sections.
Vocals for Running from the Dawn were recorded by Louis DeWray of NOSFERATU. Stephen Carey of The Eden House, NFD, and This Burning Effigy mixed the album. The album also features guest violin from Bob Loveday of The Eden House, Bob Geldoff’s band, and many others.
